While I don't think that I've ever commented here, I have been a huge fan for some time and was thrilled to see you post over at Shakesville. Your sense of humor, combined with your righteous sense of well, righteousness (I guess I could have said fairness) just sucks me in. I generally feel no need to add to what you say because you say it all. Love This Blog.
I can't remember the post, but I first came here through a link from Shakesville and Oh! You say what I would say if I were much more articulate and funny, and much less inclined to be rendered neither by rage.
I so look forward to each new post going up because reading them produces such a euphoric combination of glee and righteous anger. Blood-boiling hilarity, that's what you bring.
Thank you Sady for putting so much of your time and energy into this blog - along with my daily dose of Shakesville, these are the things which fire me up to go back into my 95% male workspace and call people on the "little things" and explain how they compound into the almighty daily misoginystic bullshit through which we battle just to get stuff done and enjoy life. Many thanks for bringing the awesome.
"One of the absolute best sites on the web for feminist critique of pop-culture... Our Sady of the Immaculate Exclamation is an acerbically funny writer." - Cait, Twice Immigrant
"Do not read this pretentious male-bashing-diarrhea-of-the-keyboard on an empty stomach." - Misandry Review
"Sady Doyle’s writings about pop culture on Tiger Beatdown provide an antidote to Entertainment Tonight, imbibable by anyone willing to take the red pill." - Clay Shirky, Cato Unbound
that is because you are awesome :)
ReplyDeleteWell-deserved! Bravissima!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for guesting!
ReplyDeleteI like it when your ladybusiness and my ladybusiness get all ladybusinesslike together. Hot stuff. Hubba hubba.
Thanks to you and Melissa for doing this "crossover episode." I'm going to be a regular reader from now on.

Um. I think I might be in love with you. Your Apatow posts are terrifically funny and insightful, and the Dollhouse post was outstanding.
ReplyDeleteYou rock.
